If I want you to photograph my wedding what do I do?
Booking with me couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is contact me about your date and we can set up a consultation meeting at my studio.
What if you are booked on the date we wanted?
I would be happy to recommend another photographer for you.
How far in advance should I be sure your services are available?
Typically 6-12 months is a safe bet, but I still have some openings for 2014.
How much does it does to hire you for a wedding?
My wedding collections start at $3500 and go up from there. If you don’t need that much coverage and want to book me for a few hours only, I will be happy to customize a package for you. Just contact me and I will provide you with a custom quote.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, I require a 35% retainer fee with a signed contract to hold your date, without those two things your date is only tentative and not set in stone. The remainder of the service fee can be paid in full anytime between when you booked, up to 1 month before your wedding date.
Do you shoot with an assistant?
In most cases, yes. Depending on which package you choose, I may also have a second shooter, but I usually always have someone with me to help keep things running smoothly.
Where are you located?
I am based in San Francisco, California, but keep a current passport and travel back to my hometown of Toronto Canada very frequently.
Do you travel outside the San Francisco area for weddings?
Yes I do. I will go just about anywhere around the world for your wedding. I will just need plenty of notice (if it’s out of the country) and we will have to discuss the details for a custom quote. If it is something a little more local, I charge .60 cents per mile outside of a 50 mile radius.
Do you have a studio?
I sure do!! A gorgeous full service studio in San Francisco, CA.
Do you recommend an engagement shoot? Do we have to do one?
Absolutely!!!! You definitely don’t have to have one but it is a good warm up to wedding day, and a great time to have just the two of you.
How much time do we need for our bride/groom portraits?
A full hour would be ideal, it would allow for us to get a variety of couple photos. You can obviously choose to see each other at the alter for the first time or before the ceremony for a first look session. In general, seeing each other before the ceremony allows for more photos, but it is your day, and we should do things exactly how you want.
How many photos will I receive fro my wedding day?
Depending on how many hours you’ve hired me for will determine the a relative number of photos. With that in mind, it could be anywhere from 400-700 images.
What other vendors should I be considering?
I have worked with so many wonderful vendors I can recommend anyone from a wedding planner to a florist.
Do you offer any photo products with your packages or just the images?
The images will be delivered to you by ftp or a crafted flash drive depending on the package that you choose. I also have an a la carte option for purchasing albums, canvases and prints if they don’t already come in the collection you booked.
Do you use Photoshop?
I do an expert job of editing the images for color, contrast, white balance. Images that will be part of your album will get extra attention, and will require your approval for the final print. No image comes to you straight out of the camera.
How long does it take to get our photos after the wedding?
Usually about 10-12 weeks as high season in San Francisco gets pretty packed. I want to ensure that I give your wedding the proper amount of time and not rush out images to you.
Is it possible that I saw some of your images on other websites and blogs?
Blogs for sure. I am widely published and my images appear in many locations. If you have seen my work on other websites it is possible as just as I use a second shooter for some of my weddings I am asked to be an associate photographer for other photographers and they are kind enough to allow me to use the photos for my portfolio.
